There’s nothing nicer than a breathtaking walk followed by a well-earned bite to eat and a glass of something good! That’s why we have put together a series of walks that start and end at The Kinmel Arms, St George!
The Kinmel Arms walk to Moelfre Summit – Just over 6 miles mostly on tarmac.
Walk through the village and past the quarry crossing.
Turn left up Fardre Hill. At the fork keep tight and on up another hill. At the junction with the main road turn right and walk for 100m and then cross the road and go uphill on the left fork (there is going to be hills as there is an epic view at the top!).
Follow this road uphill past two houses on your right. You will pass a bridleway crossing the road just before another house on your right.
Keep walking straight for 200m, past a farm on your right, and look for a stile on your left.
Climb over the stile and head straight up the hill (steep!), there is a sort of hollow in the side of the hill, go around this and you will find another stile in the top corner of the field.
Climb over this stile and keep heading up, you will see a trig point looming, head for it and watch the view just unfurling in front of you!! Lap up the views of Snowdonia, The Great Orme, The Irish Sea, The Clwydian Hills and south to The Arans. A wonderful panorama. I have seen up to 5 Choughs up here so listen out for their calls.
For a slightly different descent head east towards a gap in the fence to a gate. Turn left onto a gravel bridleway and re-join the road to turn right and retrace your steps back to the village.
