Feeling Autumnal

Feeling Autumnal

Well it’s September and definitely feeling Autumnal! It’s been a long time since my last newsletter and lots has happened….

Running up to May and beyond we have had a big redesign and reorganise of the Kinmel Arms!!

Lynn’s Pantry and Tim’s Art Studio

We have turned the restaurant area to the right when you enter the front door into an Art Studio for Tim and a Pantry area where you can now buy any of our wines (lots of new ones to try) to take home. We are also producing jams, chutneys,  pickle, biscuits, fudge and other goodies in our kitchen for you. The Kinmel Arms Dressing Gowns are for sale and we have produced a beautiful Gift Box for you to purchase to house our Gift Vouchers if you are giving them as special gifts. It’s been very exciting building and developing this area and we hope that you will enjoy the benefits of taking things home yourselves. Tim’s art is spreading around the building turning it into a gallery, all works are for sale. There are also mounted originals (no problems having them framed), prints and lots of Greetings Cards of Tim’s for sale also. Please ask to have a look in the Studio and wake him up! If you would like a painting commissioning specially please ask Tim.

We have redesigned our menus and have lovely new leather menu holders (they smell pretty good!!!). Our Autumn menu is now in and don’t forget we do offer an Early Bird Menu from 6.00 – 7.00pm Tuesday to Thursday. £15 for 2 courses and £19 for 3 courses, it’s really good value, give it a try! If you just feel like a tea or coffee and a chat try our Coffee & Cake or Tea & Tart for £5.00.

We have retained our 2 Rosettes and 5 stars with the AA for 2015/16 (we have got our eyes set on 3 Rosettes though). We have also retained our place in the Top 50 Pubs in the UK in the Good Food Guide, hurrah! Also we received a fantastic review in last Saturday’s Guardian newspaper, worth a read if you go online! Lynn was not happy that she did not get more of a mention because as we all know she does all the hard work infront and behind the scene, give her some kudos when you come in!!

Hard to believe but we are already taking bookings for Christmas! Chad (Head Chef) is working on the Winter menu which as always will prove to be delicious. The team in the kitchen are working their cotton socks off as usual, always a great atmosphere down there! Talking of Christmas we will be offering Kinmel Hampers and Wine Boxes in time for the Festive Season so if you are stuck for ideas for gifts there are a couple to whet your appetites. Come in and see us and we can make up orders to suit your budget.

On the running front this year has been for the long stuff! Jura Fell race at the end of May, Welsh 1000’s in June (came 1st M50), then Lynn and I rode the London 100 in August, I ran the Ultra Tour of Snowdonia, a 58mile race completed in 11hrs 41mins and came in 5th! Last weekend was the Dyffryn Conwy Mountain Triathlon, I was in a team and did the running bit, we came 1st overall… happy days. Next up the Snowman Triathlon and then the Snowdon Marathon to finish off!!

We have both been raising monies running, swimming and riding crazy stuff for the Cancer Treatment Centre in Glan Clwyd Hospital through The Ron and Margaret Smith Cancer Appeal for the last 4 years. You are able to donate for this directly at The Kinmel Arms, St George.

Hope you haven’t nodded off in front of your computer….Cheers Tim   );-)
