AA award alert!

Well it’s October and we’ve had the Indian Summer!!

AA award alert!

We scooped the AA Pub of the Year Award for Wales!
Lynn and I took our Head Chef Chad Hughes and our Chef de Partie Simon Roberts down to London on Monday to attend the AA Hospitality Awards for 2015. What a night out it was. Held in The Great Room at the Grosvenor House Hotel in Mayfair. Around a 1000 guests were wined and dined (Nathan Outlaw’s menu) before the awards were presented by Fiona Bruce. We are so proud to receive this recognition for excellence and success and our thanks go out to the dedication of all our staff and to all our customers for their continued support. Come in and bask in the glow of the beautiful shiny trophy!! Lynn enjoyed meeting lots of celebrity chefs (you may have seen tweets of them flitting about!) as anyone who is anyone in the restaurant field was there. I did ask Fiona Bruce for a valuation on an old watch I was wearing but she confessed to not knowing that much about antiques! She was a brilliant host of the event. If you want to read a bit about the event go to
www.aahospitalityawards.com … onwards now to work towards getting 3 AA Rosettes, no pressure!

Lynn’s Pantry

The Pantry is up and running and we have jams, onion chutney, Kinmel pickle, chocolate fudge, caramelised pecans, Vienesse biscuits all made in our kitchens and for sale on the shelves!! Also all the wines on our list are available for sale to take home, everything wrapped in our lovely ‘Kinmel Fish’ tissue paper, make fantastic gifts.
Early Bird Menu
We have redesigned our menus and have lovely new leather menu holders (they smell pretty good!!!). Our Autumn menu is now in and don’t forget we do offer an Early Bird Menu from 6.00 – 7.00pm Tuesday to Thursday. £15 for 2 courses and £19 for 3 courses, it’s really good value, give it a try! If you just feel like a tea or coffee and a chat try our Coffee & Cake or Tea & Tart for £5.00.

Christmas!!

Not so hard to believe now it’s October but we are already taking bookings for Christmas! Chad (Head Chef) is working on the Winter menu which as always will prove to be delicious. The team in the kitchen are working their cotton socks off as usual, always a great atmosphere down there! Talking of Christmas we will be offering Kinmel Hampers and Wine Boxes in time for the Festive Season so if you are stuck for ideas for gifts there are a couple to whet your appetites. Come in and see us and we can make up orders to suit your budget.

Tim’s Studio

I am busy beavering away in my studio painting (not sleeping as some people cast aspersions to!) and there are lots of original works for sale framed or unframed as well as greetings cards, poems and prints all around the Kinmel Arms, come in and have a mooch about and pop in to see me in the studio. I am happy to take commissions for special works for gifts or special occasions or corporate display.

On the running front we came second in the team relay in the Snowman Triathlon. Next up is the Snowdon Marathon on 24th October!!
We have both been raising monies running, swimming and riding crazy stuff for the Cancer Treatment Centre in Glan Clwyd Hospital through The Ron and Margaret Smith Cancer Appeal for the last 4 years. You are able to donate for this directly at The Kinmel Arms, St George.

Hey, look forward to seeing you soon…Cheers Tim );-)
